The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. Current college students are not eligible to apply. |

| Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation | |
| Girls Going Places |
Guardian's annual initiative designed to reward the enterprising spirits of girls ages 12 to 18. Guardian awards prizes to 15 girls who demonstrate budding entrepreneurship; are taking the first steps toward financial independence; and make a difference in their schools and communities. Prizes totaling $30,000 are granted to three top winners and 12 finalists each year, to further their entrepreneurial pursuits or save for college. |

| Discover Scholarship Program |
The Discover Scholarship Program awards up to $300,000 in scholarships annually to high school juniors nationwide to support continued education and training beyond high school. Since 1991, Discover has awarded nearly $16 million in scholarships to over 6,000 students. |

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the competition. |
| Fountainhead College Scholarship Essay Contest: |
The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Irvine, California, works to introduce young people to Ayn Rand’s novels, to support scholarship and research based on her ideas, and to promote the principles of reason, rational self-interest, individual rights and laissez-faire capitalism to the widest possible audience. The Institute is named for novelist-philosopher Ayn Rand (1905-1982), who is best known for her novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. ARI has a distinguished Board of Directors and a staff of about 35 employees. |
| Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: |
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. The program was created in 1995 by Prudential in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) to honor middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state, and national level. |
| The Sam Walton Community Scholarship |
Applicant Eligibility Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States and may not be a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Associate, the dependent of a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Associate, or the dependent of a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Board of Directors member as of April 25 of current year. |
| Yoshiyama Awards |
Criteria for Eligibility Award selection is based upon the significance and extent of the nominee's service to the community. The panel considers the relevance of these activities to addressing profound community and societal problems. Award recipients represent the diversity of American society and exemplify the outstanding achievement of America's young people. Yoshiyama Award selection is based upon service and the opportunity for longer-term social change rather than on academic achievement or extracurricular activities. |
