Wright State University is pleased to offer an exciting three-week science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) institute for eligible high school juniors and seniors residing in the state of Ohio. This rigorous and intensive residential institute, designed specifically for students interested in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) disciplines, will explore the physical and natural sciences and fields of engineering through a small number of interdisciplinary thematic units: Trigonometry, Metrics, Electricity/Renewable Energy, Engineering Principles, and more.

The institute will emphasize the development of practical and critical thinking skills necessary to perform scientific inquiry, and integrated within the curriculum will be opportunities for students to strengthen basic math skills. Students will have the opportunity during the institute to work in collaborative groups to design experiments, take measurements using real scientific instruments, engage in data analysis and draw conclusions. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with scientific researchers and learn more about the various STEM career options, participate in evening Learning Communities, and earn college credits. Selected students are required to live on campus to maximize the college learning experience.
